iDerm Facial Treatment in Redondo Beach

The iDerm is a clinical, non-invasive facial that goes far beyond a typical spa treatment. Often called “The Skin Gym,” this method supports how your skin functions, not just how it looks when you leave my studio.

Using a combination of gentle warmth, manual extractions, and a patented technique called iontophoresis, the iDerm Facial deeply detoxifies skin tissue, clears congestion, calms inflammation, and infuses vitamins and minerals directly into the dermis. The result is skin that looks brighter, feels healthier, and functions better over time.

If you’ve been searching for a facial that delivers visible results without harsh chemicals or invasive techniques, this is one of my favorite treatments to recommend.

What Makes the iDerm Facial Different?

The iDerm process was developed in 1937 by German chemist Dr. Paul Meminger, who pioneered the combination of vitamin infusion and galvanic current. Decades later, it remains one of the most trusted clinical facial techniques in the industry, quietly favored by estheticians, dermatologists, and Hollywood for its consistent, real-world results.

I’m drawn to treatments that work with the skin rather than against it, and that’s exactly what the iDerm does. It’s a beautiful example of advanced, naturally aligned skin care: no chemical peels, no aggressive resurfacing, and no downtime. Just thoughtful, methodical care that strengthens the skin from the inside out.

For my clients managing rosacea, inflammation, adult acne, or simply the desire to age gracefully and confidently, the iDerm fits seamlessly into the holistic approach I take with every facial.

What the iDerm Facial Can Help With

This treatment is wonderfully versatile. I use it to support clients dealing with:

  • Facial and body acne (Grades 1–3)
  • Rosacea and inflammation
  • Reactive or sensitive skin
  • Congested or enlarged pores
  • Dull, uneven skin tone
  • Fine lines and early signs of aging
  • General maintenance and skin health

What to Expect — The 4-Step Process

Your iDerm Facial typically takes about 60 minutes, or up to 90 minutes if we add LED Light Therapy. Here’s how I’ll guide you through each step:

Step 1: Preparation

We begin with a gentle cleanse and exfoliation. While you settle in, I’ll evaluate your skin’s current condition, walk you through the iDerm process, and answer any questions you have.

Step 2: Moisture Pack

I’ll apply cotton soaked in a yucca root solution, followed by a warm infrared dome. Yucca is naturally rich in saponins, which gently loosen buildup and prepare your skin for thorough extractions.

Step 3: Deep Cleaning

This is where we clear congestion. I perform careful, manual extractions to dislodge impurities, decongest pores, and reset the skin.

Step 4: Ionization

Your skin is wrapped in cotton soaked with a vitamin- and mineral-rich solution, including Vitamin C, zinc, and hydrating ingredients, and gently activated using low-level galvanic current. This drives nutrients deep into the dermis, supports collagen production, calms inflammation, and improves overall skin health.

How Galvanic Current Works (And Why It's Safe)

Galvanic current is a low-level electrical current named after Luigi Galvani, the 18th-century scientist who first explored electricity’s effect on living tissue. In skin care, it’s used to gently stimulate skin and drive water-soluble nutrients into the dermis where they can do the most good.

The current used during an iDerm Facial is incredibly gentle, about 1/1000th of an ampere. You’ll feel no pain or discomfort, just a mild, warm sensation. This technique, known clinically as iontophoresis, has been used safely in skin care since the 1930s.

What Results to Expect

Most clients leave their first iDerm Facial with skin that feels noticeably cleaner, smoother, and more hydrated, with a healthy, refreshed glow.

With consistent treatments, the deeper benefits unfold over time:

  • Fewer breakouts and less congestion
  • Reduced redness and inflammation
  • A more even, brighter complexion
  • Softening of fine lines
  • Improved skin texture and tone
  • Stronger, more resilient skin function

How Often Should You Come In?

Like any meaningful change, consistency is what creates lasting results. Here’s what I generally recommend:

  • For active concerns (acne, rosacea, congestion): Weekly for the first month, then transitioning to every 4–6 weeks
  • For general maintenance and healthy aging: Every 4–8 weeks

Even a few sessions a year can make a visible difference, but the magic really happens with regular care.

What Results to Expect

The iDerm is a wonderful option for most of my clients, but there are a few situations where this treatment isn’t recommended. The iDerm may not be a fit if you:

  • Are currently taking Accutane (must be off for at least 3 months)
  • Are pregnant (a gentler, modified version may be available, please reach out)
  • Have a pacemaker or other electronic implants
  • Have unmanaged epilepsy
  • Have metal implants in the face or head
  • Are undergoing active cancer treatment (unless cleared by your doctor)
  • Have active skin infections, severe sensitivity, or unhealed wounds

Recently had injectables? Please wait 1–2 weeks after Botox or filler, or 3 weeks if filler was placed in the chin. You can safely receive injectables the day after your iDerm Facial.

Heads up on workouts: I recommend skipping exercise the same day, so you don’t sweat out all the lovely nutrients we just infused into your skin. If you’re not sure whether the iDerm is right for you, just send me a text, I’m happy to talk it through.
