Aging Gracefully

Posted by Pam Pannacci on

As we journey through life, our skin goes through a lot of changes. I'm here to tell you, my skin is not the same today as it once was in my 20's. Our displays the laughter we've experienced, the stress, the devil-may-care shenanigans of our younger years, and all that fun in the sun (that is finally rearing it's ugly head). The key to aging gracefully is by supporting our beauty at every age. Remember, there is no such thing as perfect skin. The goal is healthy skin. It doesn't have to be complicated to care for your skin. But we do have to make an effort.

My least complicated regimen would be...

* I cannot put enough emphasis on sunscreen. It is THE #1 healthy aging product on the market. At least a 1/4 tsp for face and neck. A shot glass of sunscreen for the body. Between you and me, when I was in my 20's I used to lay out in the sun... with an SPF 4! I believe that's the natural protection of coconut oil! Holy mother of Pete!

* A good cleansing morning and night. Nighttime at the very least, because you really need to wash away the day's dirt, sweat, and pollution off your skin before sleeping. This will aid your skin in its repair work at night.

* At night you'll want a moisturizer that works with your skin type. Be it oily skin or dry skin or sensitive skin, you need to help your skin lock in hydration. And drink lots of water!

* Embrace a holistic approach, and love yourself from the inside out. Beauty and skincare go beyond topical care. We should embrace taking care of our emotional, physical, and mental well-being. This includes a healthy, balanced diet, adequate sleep, regular exercise, and stress management. Because believe it or not (I know most of you do), what's happening on the inside will be a direct reflection of what's happening on the outside.

I'll say it again, the key to aging gracefully is by supporting our beauty at every age. Remember, there is no such thing as perfect skin. The goal is healthy skin. <3
